About This Quote

People who are not religious are often accused of being anti-religious. However, this is often not the case. The people being accused of being anti-religious are actually being one of the groups to which religion is applied. For instance, homophobia is often used as an example of how religion is used to marginalize people based on their sexuality.

People who are not religious are often thought to be anti-homosexual. This does not mean that they are against homosexuality but that they do not subscribe to the belief that society has a right to tell them what their sexuality should be.
